                  Hello Michael,
thanks for your opinion. My concernes with it is the low detail in the top section, the man's face, the shoulderstraps and the sub machine guns sights. It also doesn't have the typical bronze finish and is not as smooth on the back as I would expect. Furthermore the needle system gives me worries.

Is that just a maker I have not seen before?

Here is a larger pic that gives us a better look at the top section, straps and sights.

                  Thanks!!

Here is a similar view on a piece with later stamped in national coat of arms....All my other examples look like this one, that means they are much more detailed.

                    Thanks!!

The weight is "correct" however with 25 grams.

                          Thanks!!

I can't comment as toward the color of the finish. The fact it is not smooth on the reverse does not bother me. Also, the difference in the oak leaf and less detailed soldier and weapon do not bother me. I have some in my collection that are like that. The example depicted in the red in color Militaerische Abzeichen book by Feder, Wagner and Swoboda depict the version that is less detailed.

The pin back on the reverse is exactly the same as a very old "Serial Numbered" badge I have. The finish on the badge I have is however very dark bronze, but this may be due to oxidation (Patina). I never clearn any of this stuff up, so who knows?

I think perhaps it is best to go with your gut instinct sometimes. If this one does not "Feel" right in your gut, then it may be best to pass on this offer and wait for another that has a darker bronze color and a pin back about which you are more comfortable.

                              Hello Michael,
could you do me a favour and post pics of these items? I don't have that book but I will get me a copy...which might take a while.

                              Thanks!!
