What happened to the DDR-Paradefahrzeugen (40th anniversary)

    Hello

Does somebody know what happened with the two very nice paradefahrzeugen that where used in the 40th anniversery parade in '89
I have seen the dvd with the two fiftees american style cars about a hundred times now !
The scene where Generaloberst Horst Stechbard is standing in one of the cars ( in front of Torsten ) is fantastic.
I've seen some photos from the Armeemuseum in Dresden where one of the cars must be , but the only paradecar in those photos is from a later period (end sixtees)
Maybe they are in the collection of some greedy collector ?
If there is information of the present location of the cars , I would be very grateful.

One German dealer told us that the cars where are the Armeemuseum in Dresden where he did his military service in the Bundeswehr. That is where they are most likely to have ended up. All of them. I would add, having been there, that the Armeemuseum has HUGE pavillions that are not open to the public, stuffed full with incredibly rare and valuable vehicles and artillery pieces. I could catch a glimpse of this through the windows on a torrid day of the extra torrid summer of 2003 when nobody from the museum could be bothered to step outside of the air conditioning...
My guess is that those cars are there, neglected, forgotten and most definitely... unloved.

Hi Johan, we did have a thread about NVA parade cars about a year ago, but I can't find it now...there were more types over the years apart from the two Tschaikas used in 1989....and here is a little reminder of what the car looked like... Cheers, Torsten.
