hello Oliver,there where more types off grenztruppen medals.
There where the "vernickelte " and "bronze vergoldete" types.
And look at the backside!!!!
The early ones had a open " ahren kranz" and the last had the closed "ahrenkranz".
These differences had the treue dienste and verdienst medals off the grenztruppen.

Hello Oliver,its not this open space.
All medals have this.
I mean openings in the ahrenkrans itself.Compare this medal with a 60's nva one.Only look at the ahrenkranz.
