I would obviously need photographs to confirm, but I think you got a pair of 1960s officer parade boots more or less like these :

I am very distressed to hear that they have been defiled with the unmentionable symbol and I trust that your usage of them will be true to their inner progressive and peace-loving soul

My IT skills have failed me I;m afraid - tried and failed to post photos, but I have put some pics up on my website and linked to them. What I have does appear to be very similar to the 1960 officer's boots - unless you think otherwise I am assuming someone has added some "value-increasing" stamps recently!

I confirm they are 1960s officer parade boots .
I have opened an investigation into the criminal defiling of an object of State property with reactionary symbols...

Thanks very much for the information - I shall market them accordingly, and I;ve learned something new to boot (excuse the pun). Good luck with your investigation.... Cheers, Jamie.

To resurrect an old, and good, thread again.. I would like to post a pair of 60's officers parade boots that thanks in large part to this thread, I identified and acquired at a flea market in Berlin the other day for 30 euros.

Just for kicks I compared them to my field boots for differences in curvature.

That's an excellent price and clearly dated 1968 too :tongue out:
I'm glad my pointless theorising is of some use to someone

                    Gunter

That is a given Genosse, he would have had a boot making facility given an honour name for his service to NVA footwear.
