I posted this in the WAF DDR forum, but thought I'd post here as well since this appears to be a Mongolian pin. I recently acquired this interesting Mongolian-East German Friendship Pin with a group of older East German military and police badges. It's about 1 inch wide. It doesn't appear to be East German made based on the design of the pin on the back. So I'm assuming it was made in Mongolia or the Soviet Union. Would anyone happen to know what the wording at the bottom says? It looks like НАИРАMДAЛ.

Nairamdal - translates as friendship. So the highest mountain in Mongolia still referred to.

Here is a photo from Honecker's book, Committed to Peace, Socialism and Solidarity which shows him meeting with Shambyn Batmunch (Jambyn Batmönkh or Жамбын Батмөнх in Mongolian), General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party inside a traditional Mongolian yurt. Batmunch was Head of State of the Mongolian People's Republic from 1984 to 1990. My friendship pin however I believe is older, probably from the 60s or 70s.
