    Edelweis

    Does anyone know what this edelweis is for? Is it WW2 ,military ,postwar ,country
    of origin . It is on a black background. Thanks for your help.

    I think from what I,ve read on the other forums, it is the patch of the Hitler Mountain Div. I beleive he had two divisions like this.I,d say you have very scarce shoulder patch there. Kind Regards and Happy Hollidays; Danny

      Danny, Thanks for the reply. Do you mean Hitler Youth Mountain Units because the SS Divisional mountain patches were oval and a bit different.

        I don't think it's a German patch....looks to be more in the shape of a French patch....possibly a Chasseur d'Alpin (mountain troop) unit patch. I'll see if I can find something in my references. The Edelweiß is used by many countries with mountain troops.
