1960's in my opinion.

May not be BGS (could be used by Polizei). These were generally phased-out by the mid-seventies.

Made of Steel or Aluminium ?
Because DIN industry stamps are often used with aluminium firemen helms.

I agree with Nachrichten with date and use. BGS helmet were more green than this one seems to be. Berlin BEPO wore helmets in this colour up until the late 60s early 70s when they changed to a blue helmet.

TRIMAZE is also correct in that you can find Feuerwehr helmets marked as DID14940 both in steel construction and made of aluminum and this doesn't make ant sense to me as DIN specifications should be the same for all helmets marked DIN14940.

This helmet, however, is not Feuerwehr.

Thanks for the information guys! Yes, the color is not the same as other BGS helmets, or the GSG 9 helmet I used to own. I never realized the Polizei used such a style in the past. Interesting! Yes, the shell is steel.
