Thanks for stopping by. These canteens started to appear in the early 1960s.
Here's one of mine on a mid-1960s BGS set-up. If you give us the maker's mark off the bottom of the cup or the neck of the bottle, we could probably tell you the manfacturer.

I remember seeing these at surplus stores, they are nice quality heavy duty materials, I thought they were for soup or stew? because of the extra large cap
are these also used for hot food containers or just for water? the opening looks big enough to use a spoon

It's a so called Labeflasche. As I know they were used mostly by Medic Unit's and the Wehrmacht Model by the "Infantry" Units.Comment
