A very early BGS helmet

My fellow collectors ,

Here we have a very early BGS helmet that is based on a M 42 shell.
Unfortunately the stampings are covered with a rather thick coat of paint
and therefore are not readable.

Some time ago I presented another of these first type helmets here :

Of special interrest is the way the chinstrap bales had been added to shell.
In this case some extra holes had been made into the shell to fix the bales
directly.
Not sure if these are old wehrmacht parts or not.
Hope that you like this rather salty specimen.

Very interesting helmet with a civilian type liner. Never seen one like this with the bails rivited to the shell. Thanks for the detail in the pictures.
