The "Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst" (German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency) was approved for wear in 1971. It is the most widespread badge of the German Bundeswehr and so it deserves it's own thread here, I tink. Three grades do exist, Bronze, Silber, Gold, which are awarded to all ranks. You'll find the exact requirements here:

Often the badge is called "Butterorden". Follow the next link and you'll know why:

Only metal Leistungsabzeichen are awarded. Soldiers receive the badge along with a miniature and a document. The miniature is for wear on a civilian jacket e.g. Cloth badges can be worn as well. They are offered by a couple of manufacturers.
Here are some different variants "out of the trade box":

4th pic: golden and subdued variant (15th repetition)

5th pic: Hand embroidered on black cloth for the Gesellschaftsanzug (Mess dress).

As far as I have seen, 20th and 25th repetition grades do also exist. Would be nice if you would add your variants.
Regards
Lars
