When was branch piping used on collars

I received my first enlisted jacket with the branch of service colored piping arround the collar. In this case Technical Troops (I think). The date on the label inside the inner pocket is partly covered and it looks like it might be either 66 or 86. I can't tell for sure. Does anyone know the approximate dates that the piping was used.

It really is a beautiful tunic. Nice heavy material, full French cuffs, and the shoulder board buttons screw into little posts that are sewn on the tunic. All the buttons also seem heavier than on the modern tunics.

In addition, there does not appear to have ever been a shoulder patch on the jacket. All my 1990's era jackets have them, should this one too?

Well, I just noticed farther down on this page a thread on collar piping so I think, based on that information, that the partially obscured date on my tunic must be 1966.

Hope you enjoy the pictures though.
