Going through some boxes, I rediscovered some old beret insignia today. Side by side I noticed how much the design changed over the years. Far left the first design (1980's), widely despised by the troops. I remember that this type was called "Crossed Plungers". Not much better the second design from the 1990's (center). I think the latest design (far right) looks fine now. It lasted long enough... If you have more variants, please post them here!

Interesting comparison. I'll have to have a look at my berets and see if I can find similar changes in other branches.
