    Bundeswehr in Action more Recently

Since we have a thread featuring pictures of the Bundeswehr in the early days, why not fast forward time and display pictures from the more modern times. As the German armed forces again are the dominant land force of Europe I know there's several threads about our ally in Afghanistan, but Id just like to showcase Germany's contribution to NATO, the UN & the EU. Hope you guys enjoy.

Apparently if you use Bing Maps, it will show you many a sights that are unshown on Google Maps. Hmmmm

For instance Deutsche Marine in Kiel and Wilhelmshaven

Sardinia perhaps? Im not sure where exactly these were taken. I just say Sardinia due to the presence of what appears to be NATO E-4 Sentry AWACS aircraft

                      RedCatcher1989,

Some interesting photos here. Thanks for spending the time to collect them and then to post them on the forum. One comment. I doubt very much if the airfield shown is in Sardinia. I've been there a few times in the past and there was nothing that large there at that time. There is always the chance Italian air force may have expanded the base to that size.
As an aside, while I was there we were asked not to salute the air base commander, an Italian Colonel, when he rode by on his bike. He always tried to return your salute with somewhat comical results. Of course we could not resist the temptation to salute! We also never went to the placed on the list of areas out-of-bounds to military personnel.

                      Regards,

                      Gordon
