    Harry,

Thanks for the info on the new uniforms.

    Philipp,

Thnks for the brochure and the LHD link. Interesting that in the brochure there are cuffs on the sleeve and in the LHD tunic there are no cuffs on the sleeves.

So now we need pictures of the new boards,

    Regards,

    Gordon

Back to the shirt; what type of buttons could or should be worn on the shoulder boards?

        Marc,

The same buttons as were worn on the tunic were worn with the shirt. One method of attaching the buttons on a shirt was displayed on a recent thread. A small plastic button was attached to the eyelet on the shank of the metal button and this held the shoulder board in place.
No doubt there were a number of different ways used to hold the shoulder board in place.

        Regards,

        Gordon

Thats the typ of buttons and shouler-boards we used a few years ago.
I've only worn my Dienstanzug 4-5 times but I kept this pair anyways.

That´t the same type we still use for the shirts.
And here is an older type shirt where it was totally different....

                Sir Harry,

Interesting shot of this older shirt. Haven't seen one like this before.

                Regards,

                  Gordon,

It came with a uniform of a Fallschirmjäger who wore it in the early 60s.

                    Hello Harry,

has any of the 37/10 hardliners tried to give you a hard time for wearing that shirt, yet?
                    I am just currious.

                        Looks a bit different now:

Nice to see the turnback cuffs back on the uniform. I have mixed feelings on the new cut of the jacket. It looks strange with the 5th button so high up on the front. It appears that the design is trying to get back to the closed-collar style of the Wehrmacht or DDR without actually closing the collar.

                          Sprogcollector,

There seems to a considerable difference between the tunic in the brochure above and the tunic on the LHD site. The only difference between the LHD tunic and the currently worn one is how the shoulder boards are attached. Perhaps this type of tunic has been on issue for a while and I just haven't seen it before? The one in the brochure would be a major departure from currently worn tunics. I wonder which one is/will actually be the 2011 version?

                          Regards,

                          Gordon

                            Hello Gents,
Finally, here are two pics I took from the LHD flyer. This Friday I will visit the shop here in Koblenz and buy a pair of shoulder boards with my rank. I heard they are not as wide as the old ones, will post pics as soon as I have them.
Perhaps later in the year I am gonna buy myself one of the new tunics, they cost 189 Euro plus insignia and tailor work, so I reckon about 230 or so.

                            Harry

Looks like a nice itchy wool material.
