    Bundeswehr Dress Shirt?

Team - I'm assuming this is a standard Bundeswehr dress shirt, but seem to recall that the BGS wore a similar style early on.

As a helpless field gear guy, I'm counting on you dress up types to set me straight.

    Thanks,
    TJ

Here's a look at the label.

I'm bracing for the dreaded, "...And you dare call yourself a mod? Any rookie could pick that out as a Bundeswehr label", reply...

    Again, I'm a field gear guy -

Standard Cullinane out-of-focus shot of the epaulette. You all know by now that my ignorance of dress uniforms is exceeded only by my lousy photographic skills.

        Thanks - TJ

Looks like a Bundeswehr shirt to me.

TJ, your thoughts are absolutely right, this is a 1974 made BW shirt for the dress uniform...size 40 (shirt size depends on the collar diameter...)

            Regards,

            Jens

May also be worn with out the jacket, hence the reason for the 'tubes' on the shoulders which are used to accomodate the thin strap on the underside of the shoulder straps.

                That's right.
It's always fun to watch the new guys trying to get the shoulder-boards on the dress shirts.

                Cheers,
                Philipp

                  Gents,
This week I tried out a "New Generation" dress tunic at the LHD shop in Koblenz. LHD has field tested these new uniforms and now they are on sale everywhere in their shops. One of the new features, apart from the dark, dark gray color which reminds me of the early tunics is that the shoulder boards are no more sewn to the jacket. They are now fixed just like the boards on the shirts and can be taken off easily. Needless to say that the present boards cannot be used, you have to buy the "New Generation" boards as well....

                  Have a good one

                  Harry

                    Harry,

Now that you have let it be known that there is a new Uniform, will there be images of it posted soon?

                      Harry,

Would you happen to have a picture of these new tunics? Or maybe a link to one?

Too bad guys, I forgot that flyer in my barracks quarters this morning. The homepage of LHD is only open with an account and password, so this won´t help you at all. I have not found any other source where a pic is available but should I find one I will post it right away. Other than that, I will bring the flyer next week and scan it.
Another feature is a special seam on the back, called "Wiener Naht" or
Vienna Seam. If you are familiar with tailormade Waffenrocks of the Wehrmacht, these were made with the same seams on the back.
Plus, according to the sales assistant, they don´t have to be dry cleaned, they can be washed!

                          Hello guys,
this is how it was supposed to look like - right Harry?

                          Looks a bit different now:

There you go, that´s the one!
Indeed, it looks different now, thank god. That link you included shows the actual jacket, however, it does not come out how dark gray it really is and does not show the new features. If nobody else is posting it before, I will get the flyer next week.

                              I like it!

Not so much the other with the dark buttons and turn-back cuffs. But the darker one in the link is very nice.
