75 packed BW breads - how old, collectable?

A friends rescued those from the dump - is there a way to tell their age, and is this stuff sought after?

      Hi Patrick,

very nice find. They are the first pattern, still showing ther US-No (Unterkunfts- und Sanitätsmaterial), the precessor of the NSN.

I paid 10 € for my single pack in mint condition. They are sought by collectors of early Bw. The exact year of manufacture is hard to tell, because the US-Nr. are without date. But on the side should be the year pressed in or stamped.

      Bye
      Frank

Thanks for the info, Frank - should I look for the year-stamp on the side of the single packs, or the big box?

Well, when I was in the army (1992/93) we eat the "cookies" (nicknamed "Panzerplatten"), made in 1963...
