    Earliest officers visor Luftwaffe 1955

    Hello,
here's another one of my collection. It's the earliest visor hat i have ever seen. Very nice early visor, nearly unworn in excellent condition.
Made by Peküro, dated 1955 on reverse of the sweatband.

Fantastic cap!! I don't think I've ever seen pics of one in a private collection. Well done.

Are the visor and chin straps made out of leather or plastic?

Christian - A fine cap indeed.

It would appear to contain many different features from caps manufactured just a year or two later.

          Thanks for sharing.

          All the best - TJ

            Christian,

Thanks for the answer. I have an old Heer officers cap that has leather brim (underside and edge) and leather chin strap:

I figured all the very early caps also had leather, however that appears wrong now. Interesting.

Also interesting is your cap is for officers, but it has a blank brim and metal cockade. I never noticed this before in very early pictures! Usually they have a metal branch of service badge too.

Your cap is quite rare and in beautiful condition too!

            Cheers,

            Steve
