    GSG9 Einsatzanzug

    Hello,
here's another piece from my collection. An early Einsatzanzug from the GSG9. Don't know if it's a special GSG9 piece or if it was in general use by bgs. I found nothing about in the www.
Trousers are dated 1974 and with makers label, jacket with undated label. Both pieces are comming from a former GSG9 member.
Maybe someone has any informations to this type of uniform?

    Regards, Christian

    The trousers...

Nice uniform, Christian! If you have a chance, can you take a closeup picture of the GSG-9 badge?

The style of uniform was also worn by BGS units other than GSG-9. Although yours looks more grey than the ones I've seen. There are at least 2 models of the jacket, maybe 3. I forget One has an arm pocket and the other does not.

Excellent closeup! Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to see. It's a "bevo" type badge, not one on a felt backing. I've not seen many confirmed real examples of GSG-9 badging, but it seems the badges readily available on eBay are on felt backing. I have a used GSG-9 shirt that I trying to restore and I didn't think the felt badge was appropriate for it. With this new information (to me, anyway) I think I need to find a badge like this one.

Does anybody have more information about GSG-9 badging on uniforms of any sort?

        Thanks!

        Stee

          Gentlemen,

I beleive that the bevo badge is the correct one, not a felt backed badge.

          Regards,

          Gordon

It was also worn in regular units and was called "Ausbildungs- and Einsatzanzug". What kind of shirt from the "Niners" do you have Steve. They mostly wear this kind of uniform with a dark green T-shirt.

Thanks for the confirmation Gordon. I haven't yet found a bevo badge for sale to complete my shirt. Frustrating

              Michael,

My BGS Einsatzanzug collection does not include any GSG-9 items. My early uniforms were made before GSG-9 existed, my later ones are regular BGS uniforms. They are in the standard green color. I'll try and take some pictures this week.

                BGS GSG 9 BEVO Einsatzanzug

I rediscovered this old post thread when I was researching the BEVO weave GSG9 einsatzanzug patches for the uniform shirts, so I thought I'd add a little to it..........

A good friend in Berlin, who is a fellow BGS collector and BGS veteran, located an original BEVO weave GSG9 einsatzanzug for me recently. These BEVO weave patches seem to be nearly impossible to locate, so I feel very lucky to have it today! One of my original GSG9 uniform shirts was missing the einsatzanzug when I aquired it. I sewed on one of the more common "felt" einsatzanzug patches until I could replace it with the correct BEVO weave patch. Today I finished up the restoration and sewed the correct patch on.

From what I understand, the felt type GSG 9 einsatzanzug were meant to be sewn on the Class A dress uniform jacket. The BEVO weave patches were meant to be sewn on the uniform shirts.

If anyone has a good source for these BEVO weave patches, let me know, I am still looking for one more!

Here are a few photos of both a felt and the BEVO weave patches as well as a shot of the uniform shirt with the correct patches:

Here is a comparison of the BEVO and Felt patches, side by side:
