This last case is supposedly an early Bundeswehr medic's bag.

A close up of the inscription on the press closure. It reads:

“TURNYT IKA No 1750 (Skeleton Key Symbol) No 1751 MADE IN GERMANY”.

It just goes to show that there is more than one unusual style case attributed to the Bundeswehr in the hands of perplexed collectors....

Why do you think it is 100% BW? I agree there are a couple of features that are very similar to BW stuff, but there are several features which are not. I also was unaware of the BW using Khaki US style equipment in 1960. Although, as I said, I don't really know enough to say either way.

I have taken it out of the French pile and now have it in the Unresolved pile. Since these piles are in my head and not in actual boxes, the change is quite easy to make

Because I got about 50 of them from a VEBEG Lot some Years ago.

I would say It's a Document Case for some Heavy Equipment.
I agree, 100% Bundeswehr. The only reason I know this is because of the "12" in the NATO stock number (12 was the code for West Germany, today for Germany).

maybe yes. I think I had 5 left when I moved from my shop to Storage.
I think it takes a while to find them. Look at the Amoeba Cover thread, then you'll know what I mean.
