    Fallschirmjagerbataollon 263

    Hello everyone!

I'm looking for any information about Fschjgbtl 263, LLBrig 26, DSO.
Photo, video ... text information... Can someone help me with this?

Do they have an official site?

SLeS - Welcome to the forum. Fallschirmjägerbataillon 263 is West German, not East German. There are wikipedia pages in both English and German:

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallsch...rbataillon_263

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallsch...rbataillon_263

And a Bundeswehr page on the unit: http://www.deutschesheer.de/portal/a...eile/fschjg263

        Moved to West German forum...

In the second issue of the German Magazine K-ISOM was an article of the unit. But it is sold out.

SLeS - See below for some photos of FschJgBtl 263 troopers taken from Carl Schulze's book Deutsche Fallschirmjaeger Heute (published in 2000).

The first shows a 2nd Company trooper adjusting the antenna of a PRC 2200. Note the tactical symbols on the hood of the vehicle. The unit's distinctive red scorpion marking can just be seen on the the far left.

If you PM me with your home snail mail address, I'll make copies of the chapter on 263 and send it to you. I would highly recommend purchase of this book, as it is crammed with lots of color photos of "fallis" in action.

                All the best - TJ

Next up is an Uzi (MP2) equipped platoon leader from FschJgBtl 263 talking on a SEM 70 radio. Note the Uzi ammo pouch and "flak jacket".

These photos are probably from the late 1990s, just before the BW transitioned to the G36.

This 263 squad appears to have just landed on the LZ.

Note the G3A4 and Granatpistole (GraPi) carried by the trooper in the foreground. The GraPi carries the commercial designation HK96A1 and fires 40 mm grenades.

This picture shows a young trooper bearing a torch at a ceremony honoring the 40th anniversary of Luftlandbrigade 26, the parent unit of FschlJgBtl 263, on 10 July 1998.

263 trooper readies a Panzerfaust for action.

It looks like he has a U.S. camo band on his helmet and perhaps goggles threaded through the camo loops as well?

This image and the next are also from Carl Schulze's book.

263 troopers on patrol. The point man also sports a U.S. camo band on his helmet.

It looks like the MG3 gunner's "fun meter" is pegged out.....
