Hi Guys, I had a PM from Klaus regarding the setting up of a new dedicated West German forum. So after consultation with Seba and the Moderating team, here it is!

I have placed Ralph as a Moderator here as an experienced pair of hands. But I would welcome suggestions for two new Mods who are specialists in this field of collecting.

So please post away and have fun!

One individual I can think of that might make for a good moderator on this forum is Gordon Craig.

You or Ralph might want to PM him. I think he has contributed to many of the threads that have been relocated to this new sub-forum.

Hello all - Glad to see that we now have a West German forum on the WAF. Thanks to you all who collect West German items for making this happen.

Ade and I are working on getting MODs who are very knowledgable with West German collectables. Thanks Mike for your comments...

HURRAY Finally!!! I just hope this new forum is just as informative as the DDR who knows maybe we can get a New Wall going to Just kidding.. I've kind of hung up my WW2 german collecting and am working on collecting items from both sides of the Wall.
Got to get a new camara so I can post photos, the old one gave up the ghost.

Outstanding addition! West German items are largely unknown. I have picked up West German Polizei items rather haphazardly over the years to add to other German Police goodies and it is great to have this new resource. I look forward to new postings to add to the collected ones here now.

This a Progressive Step that as have made in the People's name, It is good the Reactionary FDR has its place, as its Progressive Brother the DDR has long held in the name of the People's..

There is a New Power on this Progressive People's Forum.

We can be sure the Internal Security Complex being put into place will be as vigourous and Progressive as any other Progressive Sectors of this Progressive People's Forum.

We are now a Unified Sector.... The 25th April 09 is now a National Day for this Progressive Sector.

We owe a vote of thanks to Klaus for initiating the request for a West German Forum, to Ade for taking the request forward and to Seba and the Moderating team for recognizing the value of this request. This is the only forum I am aware of that covers West Germany in such a broad way and can prove to be a great resource for a growing field of collecting interest. We have a great chance here to make this the premier West German Forum on the net. We have agreat example to follow in the DDR Forum. I hope to see a lot of participation and look forward egerly to participating and gaining much new knowledge.

I would like to echo Bernhard's thoughts about Gordon as a moderator. I think he would be an excellent choice as he is well versed in West German regalia.

... but is your name Craig or Criag? I think most of us instinctively (mis?)read it as the former, yet it isn't the way your user name is spelled.

I also notice that Bernhard's recent Bundesgendarmerie thread has been relocated here. Does that mean post war Austrian militaria topics are welcome here as well, even though they technically involve a different country? With the departure of BRD from the International forum, most of the traffic there will be SE Asia related (unless and until that too spins off into its own forum). Perhaps the Bundesheer would feel more comfortable hanging out with its Bundeswehr cousin over here than with the ARVN strangers over there?

The Necessary( purely defensive) Siting of SS20's by the Fraternal Communist Bloc Militaria Sector in the Deutsche Demokratische Republik Sector to keep its Expansionist Reactionary Neighbour in check would be unfortunate, and would cause this Command to be a nuisense at best...

Thanks for pointing out this Bundesheer thread. I have already requested that Ralph move the thread I started on the Bundesheer Combat Knife back to the International Forum. . Ralph will probably move the one on Bundesgendarerie back to the International Forum once he reads your post. I, for one, think we should keep the BRD and the Austrian sections separately. Too often you look at something on the net labled as Bundesheer to find pictures of Bundewehr Heer artifacts pictured.

Actually, you guys have raised two points here which I wanted to address:

First is the Austrian issue. I am willing to go along with your wishes on this. So we will keep them in the International forum.

Second is the Indo China/Vietnam issue: we are going to start a new forum for that subject matter too
