    48th Highlanders of Canada

Picked these badges up today. I know the scroll with Canada is WW1 but I am curious about the other.

its got great detail and age and is different then the WW2 caps I have seen and had. Saly one lug is broken.

Anyone help out? I did a quick search and that pattern looks to have been used pre war?

I think the variant with the 'Canada' scroll may be from the 134th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, raised in 1915 as a reinforcement battalion for the 48th.

The 48th was raised in 1891 as a Toronto militia unit, fought in both World wars and still exists as part of Canada's Active Reserve Force. So there are many variations on the badge but this one seems to be an early version. Check here for a more knowledgeable discussion: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...th+highlanders

    Hope this helps.
