Hi Des, thanks for posting the operating trousers as a few of our group are really into RAMC stuff

I don't like the chinstraps on that helmet at all. I realise one of the photos shows a fake as advertised.

        Cheers, Ade.

          Hi Ade,

No problem! Medical items are quite interesting (I have a few bits and pieces due to my Canadian SB setup) and as I said, I imagine those operating trousers must be fairly scarce and desirable to someone into medical gear.

I felt the same on the chinstraps. Just something not quite right.

Here is another auction. This might have a chance of being right? as I actually do believe he got this as part of a group (Check out the other auctions). He is splitting everything up which is sad I guess but there is alot of stuff involved so kind of understandable to a degree? I dont know but heres the link anyway

Hi Des, it really pains me to see all that wonderful group being split. Having said that, if the seller won't keep it together I just hope that the main items stay together and go to the same bidder.

            Cheers, Ade.

I wasn't sure to laugh or throw up when I saw this one:

Hey Luc, Looks also a CANADIAN BD to me, the colour isn`t the UK one! Real nice fake insigna!

                What about this grouping
                http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...510345255&rd=1

                really nice isn`t it?

                  Hi Luc,

Yes certainly laughable but maybe we should be thankful how easy these things are to spot I do not think it is a Canadian made BD jacket though.

                  Jeroen,

Yeah that grouping mostly has post war items in it but again the BD is a laugh

                    He Des,

I think you could be right about the BD, but it looks a bit green on the picture, and the BD of the grouping is a laugh indeed. What do you think about the smock, it could be a real one the label looks oke to me, but id like to see the backside. Ive got one to, it look similar to this one!

                      Hi Jeroen,

I am quite sure the smock is fine. But it has the full zip which alot of collectors do not like. Because most wartime photos with smocks show them with a half zip.

Never heard of Para bincoulars before but in fairness the photo does seem to show the exact same type being used! Interesting!

LOL and in follow up to the above post, the auction photo also shows a full zipper in wear!!

                            Hey Des,

We got one to in our little museum, it comes from a bomber what crasched in 1944. Its a RAF Observer's Type Harness voor Bomber Crews that`s what istold to me! The Americans copied it from 1944 and cald it a A4. Look at the picture..

                                Now this is unusual!

First of all, I never knew there was an RAF version!

and what about the date, its so early!
