    British Airborne helmet

    Hi,

I have been offered a British Airborne helmet that is used but in very good condition. I have obviously seen it but I don't have any photos of it, otherwise I would put them up here. What I can say is that it is not stamped on the leather lining like the helmets I have seen here.
The shell and the liner looks exactly like the Brit Para helmets shown on this site but as I say, without the stamping on the leather liner.
Do you think this helmet is genuine?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
If it's the MkII with the webbing chin straps, they also made them in the 50's & sixties, so it could be post war. Without pictures we can't really help, but with so many fakes out there I would air on the side of caution, if it's the MkI with leather chin straps you might be ok as they were only made from 42-43.
But clearly marked helmets in this day & age are must really.

Be careful, liners without markings could very well be from a Belgium post-war helmet. These also have a smooth finish and green webstraps.

          Agree

          I agree with Luc ....
Sounds like a 50's Belgian helmet.
