Gary, I just had the same problem today for the first time, and after I resized my photos they uploaded.

Same solution worked for me. I reduced the size of my photos slightly and it worked.

I have my images set on the smallest size and the lowest detail and still no joy. Me thinks it is time to leave this site. Makes me sad but if i can't do even the basics here there is no point in staying.

I resize to 1200 pixels and there's no problem plus the pics still look good.
