Re-sizing images made easy - step by step guide

    Hi

Given the post relating to how to re-size images, then I thought a short 'how to' guide may be useful for some members.

This is for members who have not got Photoshop or any other photo editing software and want a quick, free and painfree piece of software to enable them to re-size images to upload on the forum.

I have been testing Irfanview and it does what it says on the tin and is easy to use.

It can be downloaded from their homepage: http://www.irfanview.com/

First of all, be aware of the image size limits for uploading images.

        Step 3

        Step 3

In the Resize/resample image options, enter the new values for the image in the 'Set new size' box. If you enter one value (remember the forum limits), it automatically calculates the other

When you have entered the value, then click OK.

Then either save the image, or better still choose 'save as' so do not lose your original higher quality image.

Hi Ray, great advice. I use a package called photofiltre, which is also free to download and has been working great for me. It has some useful features on it, that photoshop does not have .... Cheers, Torsten.
