Roger Bender (1940-2020) - Note to Forum Staff

    Just found out about this. I knew Roger and visited his house in San Jose on a number of occasions when he used some of my collection for a book on the USMC years ago. Last saw him at a local show a few years back.
    He was one of the nicest, friendliest persons I have met in this hobby and am shocked at his passing. A true giant in his field!

      I just now saw this thread. Terrible news. Roger was a great guy and I am so grateful for his dedication to our hobby and the history we study.


      I think putting his name on the title of this forum was a great and honorable idea. Thank you moderators.

        Ditto, as I add my sympathies to Roger's family and friends. He was truly a warm person and someone who was always excited to discuss military history and collecting. Rest in peace Roger..............
