That series was relatively good, with a fair amount of detail for books intended for a general audience, rather than for historians. For your purposes, you're better off getting Stalingrad to Berlin, by Ziemke. It is quite good, considering it is 50 years old and much new information has emerged. The maps are also useful.

Actually the book would be available via interlibrary loan for free. I left an interlibrary loan request today for some 60 books. Most of them Osprey booklets. As I am in good terms with both libraries, I will be picking them up tomorrow.
