Service daggers of the SS by Ralf Siegert

I am thinking to buy a copy of this book but would like some opinions on it. How good is it in comparison to Wittmann's book ?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Excellent book, in my opinion. I have the German text edition, it has recently been published in English. His books on SA and NPEA daggers are also very good. The latter has only been published with German text. I believe there is talk of an English version.

You need both imo. Wittmann is longer on experience than Siegert and writes well, has seen and handled more stuff. But, Siegert is the more reliable historian and includes a wealth of original period documentation pertaining to SS edged weapons and accessories. Get the English language edition, unless you are a German speaker when the original German text is to be preferred. Jmo.

very good book, and he hast the right time line with its letters for the M36 chains. Like you see on the web from JR Meda and Siegerts book.
