    Reference books

    Hi everybody!
My interest in Schutzpolizei uniforms is recently grown, so if someone could suggest me some good reference book on the argument, better if in english, it would greatly help me!
    Many thanks in advance!

    Daniele,

There are few good references in English on the Deutsche Polizei. One is the reprinted 1945 SHAEF manual titled "The German Police" published by Axis Europa. This is good factual informaton (from the US Army Intelligence point of view) on the Nazi period police. For references to the earlier German police there are several books published by Podzun-Pallas in German. Two by Ingo Löhken are excellent as are several books by Erich Radecke...all in German. Roger Bender is now printing a new book in English on the German Police by Jack Angolia and Hugh Taylor that should be out in the next few months. All these books should be available from the publishers on line.

Police reference is somewhat lacking at the moment, although, the joint venture between Angolia and Taylor is forthcoming!

Daniele, Perhaps a thread pertaining to Schutzpolizei des Reiches – Reich Protection Police (Schupo), should be and will eventually be started. Otherwise, please ask if you have questions!

We were hoping to have the book out in time for Christmas, but delays beyond our control have now missed this deadline. Roger tells me 27 December is when they should reach him from the printer.

Jack, Roger and I really look forward to and will appreciate any feednack from this Forum. All and any comments, corrections and additions will be carefully considered and made available to readers in future volumes in the series. With this being the first "fresh" look in English at what is a complex subject, there are bound to be criticisms and we welcome them.

Happy Christmas to you all from sunny Australia!

                Hugh

Does anyone know if the Luftschutz Polizei and the Fire Police are featured in this book?

Also, has anyone from the UK ordered a book from Bender before,if so,how long does it take to arrive?

                        Kind regards,
                        Andy
