    memoir,"no escape"

just finished this "No Escape,my young years under Hitlers shadow" by W.John Koch. Its Mr Kochs account of his family and himself living in the time of the Third Reich, his descriptions of place details etc are very concise (too detailed! )His time in the Hitler Youth and R.A.D are swept through rapidly ! He spent over a year on the Eastern front in the infantry and was decorated several times , this too is sketchily mentioned then simply put down as "I don t want to write about it anymore "! His experiences surrendering to the Americans and P.O.W experiences are however quite detailed . Iwas disappointed in this book ,Koch is an author who has apparently written biographies of other people , despite keeping a diary of his experiences on the Russian front he doesn t allude to it at all ! )

Cheers for that Terry. Won't be reading this anytime soon.
