De Gaulle - Leclerc- Free French - Africa

    Hi
I hope the title of the thread tells you what I am looking for...I have just got back from yet another business trip to French West Africa (Congo, Gabon and Cameroun). Local facilties are rubbish compared to what we are used to in Europe or other parts of the world, roads are in very poor condition, heat, heavy rain. malaria, etc.. and it got me thinking that I would like to read the story of those Free French guys who were in Brazzaville and Douala and then went on to Chad (Tchad) and then North Africa.....so.....can anyone recommend a few good books for me (in English or in French).
    Thanks.

Two books that I own and highly recommend:

" Free France's Lion", by William M. Moore A recent bio of LeClerc.

" France, Soldiers and Africa" by Anthony Clayton. A more general study of all the units of the Armee D'Afrique, and La Coloniale, from the conquest of Algeria until the Armee D'Afrique's end in the 1960's. Lots of great info, including the Foreign Legion, Senegalese Tiralleurs, Moroccan Goums, Spahis, Colonial Infantry, etc. It may be a bit expensive.
The book on LeClerc is available at Amazon.
