Can anyone recommend any good books, both pictorial and otherwise, on the Battle at Demjansk? Thank.

In English, try Like a Cliff in the Ocean, by Karl Ullrich. It's a veterans history of the Totenkopf Division, written by a former battalion and regimental commander in the unit. The German original is Wie ein Fels im Meer, but it is much less detailed than the other veterans history of the Totenkopf Division, Soldaten Kaempfer Kameraden by Wolfgang Vopersal. Volumes IIa and IIb of SKK cover the Demyansk portion of the division's history.
For a basic/introductory history in English, try Demyansk: The Frozen Fortress, an Osprey Campaign booklet by Robert Forczyk.
Werner Haupt writes about Demyansk in his Army Group North book, which is translated from the German original. Haupt has written a book specifically about Demyansk in German, but I've never seen it.
Edited to add that issue #50 of Siegunen Magazine is an English history of the Frikorps Danmark, most of it focusing on their time at Demyansk. Several books in Danish cover the service in more detail, but I don't have titles handy. Wilhelm Tieke devoted half of his Im Lufttransport an Brennpunkte der Ostfront, half of which about the Frikorps.Last edited by MarcRikmenspoel; 07-27-2014, 09:24 PM.
