I could only see a bit of it as I had to be up at 05:30 for work but the small amount I did see was very good and I hope it might get repeated at some point on one of the C4 channels as I would like to sit down and watch the whole thing.

It is one of my favourites, and I think it is an underrated film that completely slipped under the radar when it came out.

@hucks216: Totally agree, it is a hidden gem - I would have loved to have seen it on the big screen.

Yes, a great film and a sad story. Any regime that is so weak that it would cut the head off of a twenty year old girl for simply speaking her mind, is doomed to failure. And her fiance was a decorated officer serving on the russian front at the time. If that isn't cause for desertion, or worse, what is?

I saw 'Black Book' at about the same time. Another great film.

Hello all - I have seen the movie Sophie Scholl and it is a great historical movie to watch. This movie was able to fill in some of the gaps of the intergations since the end of the Cold War. The academic community was able to go through the former East German achives after 1990 and retrieve new information of the intergations conducted by Robert Mohr.

Further agree that the Black Book was an interesting movie even though it was not based on a true story, but on overall events.

Both movies are a must watch...
