Flog It! 10 of the Best - Rescued.

If any U.K. members have access to the BBC iplayer have a look at this one:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode..._2007_Rescued/
A lady and son rescued a WWI Pickelhaube and WW2 cased EK1 from a bin and took it to Flog It!
Pickelhaube was valued at £300 - £500 and the EK1?
Quote from the 'expert' - "the Iron Cross is worth £25 as well"
It comes up at about 5mins. Enjoy!

Saw that one when it was originally on.
That's why i keep an eye on my local auction house every month, easy enough to trawl the online catalogue.
Trouble with mine is that anything military that comes up is usually cheaper off a dealer

These experts on daytime TV make me laugh. Anything military they just make it up, makes you think about what they make up about other items ?? I mean 'it says FR on the front which means Field Regiment , so it was an artillerymans helmet' !!!
I saw another pikel on another flog-it a few months ago, a battered grey metal leather pikel which the guy valued up to £800 so the owner thinking he was onto a good thing put a reserve of I think £900 on it...bidding went to i think £280!!(about correct )!!
And £25 for a cased EK1 ! The poor kid was diddled !!
