The scene in the barber shop with the young man is laugh out loud funny.

Excellent movie. Clint Eastwood at his best.

                  Gran Torino

I saw Gran Torino today at AMC for $5. It was a real good movie from beginning to end. Clint Eastwood is downright cool and a well-written movie story. A telltale sign of today's family and society in general. A bit racy - but funny in the Eastwood style.
                  Take care.

I waited until I saw the movie before I read this thread.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the barbershop scene was fantastic.
I was glad to see Mr. Eastwood had the balls to include the language he did and that he did not PC the movie.

I am not a big Ford fan, but, the Grand Torino is a beautiful car. Good old American muscle car.

I did not see the movie until after the academy awards were announced. With all of the great reviews I had heard on the film I wondered why the academy snubbed it.

Then I saw the movie and I completely understand the PC academy crowd's snubbing. I guess it just wasn't milk and cookie enough for them. Heaven forbid they nominate a film on its merits.

It was OK. Eastwood was fine. Shame on me, but I saw a "pirated" copy, and even though I enjoyed the movie, I was glad I did not have to spend $ to see it. Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven it is not. I would recommend waiting til its on DVD.
