not a ww2 book but maybe one which Hitler should have read , its the diary of a sergeant of Napoleons imperial guard and his account of the grande armee s retreat from Moscow (they walked) if you enjoyed Guy SAJERS forgotton soldier you will enjoy this , although divided by over a hundred years from the German retreat the relevance is still there
