    Goebbels diaries 1939-1941

Hi all, I am about to finnish the above named book (very interesting) translated and edited by Fred Taylor. Have searched the net and can't find any others by the author, i.e 1941-1942, 1942-1943 etc. Did Fred Taylor do any more? and if not is there any other decent substitutes? Regards.

I'm sorry to be satirical, and if the moderator removes it I understand why, but i couldn't resist. The Rush Limbaugh years 1985 - 2008 are/would be very comparable at spewing forth propaganda and reactionary vile.

Hugh Trevor-Roper edited Final Entries: 1945 The Diaries of Joseph Goebbels. G.P. Putnam's Sons, NY; 1978. It is the only other published diary I know of, and I highly recommend it.

Hugh Tevor Roper also edited the Goebbels Diaries of 1942-43 that were published in 1947 and they can still be found on Amazon or Alibris as can be the Final Entries diaries. The Diaries of 1942-43 are certainly the best diaries or insight into the Third Reich ever published -- I recommend them higher than the Final Entries as they are somewhat dry. The 1942-43 entries discuss everything and everyone in no uncertain terms. A better glimpse of Hitler and the NSDAP than Speer ever gave.

Are you fluent in German??? It appears the entire diaries are being published in German, some 24 volumes to date, I believe, with a few more volumes to go. But, I think they are at this time only in German, and are quite pricy. Something to monitor, though, if you can read German.

As far as I know, in english there are available : 1939-41,1942-43 and 1944-45.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the very early years: i watched in fact a while ago a program on History Channel about the years of the struggle for power and I believe that those diaries were very interesting.
