I can highly recommend Wim Govaerts' new book on Heinz Wolfgang Schnaufer, the Diamonds winner! Nachtsprook van Sint-Truiden (Night Ghost of St. Trond) is by far the finest work I have ever seen on Schnaufer.
Obviously written with the assistance of Schnaufer's family, surviving crew- members and friends, the book contains a wealth of information, previously unseen photos and award documents. Although written in Dutch, the book is still readily understandable to English-speakers. Schnaufer's awards are all pictured and described and the color section is outstanding. Anyone interested in the story of night fighter operations will be very glad they bought this book!
