Over the years the adventures of the German Sea Raider Atlantis has be told in many references and a motion picture was produced using the story of the Atlantis as the theme for the movie. Most recently a new book was written about the cruise of the legendary German Armed Merchant Cruiser. The book is entitled THE CRUISE OF THE GERMAN RAIDER ATLANTIS, published by the NAVAL INSTITUTE PRESS, 291 Wood Rd., Annapolis, Md. 21402. The author is a member of our forum, Mr. Joe P. Slavik. He had access to previously unavailable data taken from the ship's log, personal interviews with over a dozen of former crew members of the Atlantis, and has told a true story that is most intriging and is not only a great addition to the history of the Atlantis, but gives the reader a real-life adventure story of high seas naval combat. I personall recommend this great book and commend Mr. Slavick's contribution to this area of naval history.
