Book: "Das Deutsche Kreuz"

Anyone familiar with "Das Deutsche Kreuz 1941-1945", by Klaus Patzwall & Veit Scherzer?

It's purportedly a list of all of the DKiG & DKiS recipients. Is it worth owning?

I will of course, have Dietrich's book when it's published, but I just wondered if this one is worth owning.....

Volume II lists all recipients in an alphabetical order. This is very raw and dry research material. No fancy stuff - just lists of names. Author Veit Scherzer

Volume I tries to give an overview over the different makers and variations but it is extremely confusing. Not only are some of the variations missing - for whatever reason the Author Klaus Patzwall starts a mini war with Nimmergut about the compositiona and weight of Cupal.

Documents and cloth version is also covered.

The book is definitely better that what was on the market before, including the famous price guide and the chapter in Gordon's book, but it falls short if one really wants to have a "good - bad" guide.

Podzun Verlag did 2 vols also years ago, 1 on Army and the other the remaining branches. As with the one above, just name, rank, unit, date.

I've done more in depth for the SS GC holders (full bios with photos, documents, unit and tangent data to the award winners, etc) and that series continues with Bender Publishing. I'm unaware of any covering other branches in detail.
