Great movie, I recommend seeing it, but dont take any younger children to it as it is very violent.

It was ok. Just another vampire move in a long line of them churned out by Hollywood.

Think of them as Vampies on Crack.

My opinion is with the last comment, just average. I am a horror movie fan and this was only a "c" in my book. There was so much potential in the month long darkness aspect of the movie. I wish it had been more edge of the seat suspense type thing as opposed to vampires chewing heads off people.

I would not necessarily say it is a must see, but if you like horror/vampire movies go see it and decide for yourself.

My take that its the best vampire movie (at least in the past 10 years) is the fact that its not your sterotypical vampire movie. The vampires were not your typical young model looking, egotistical, Old World, style vampires that have plagued vampire movies since the 80s. There was some very good character development from most of the characters in this movie. I have described the vampires to friends as "Max Schrek" style vampires. The style that actually fits the majority of descriptions in traditional vampire legends.

I am not busting your balls here but what kind of Vampire character development was there? Did they come from that boat? If so where did they sail from? Why did they come to that town (as it was mentioned there were other towns that had 30 days of night?) What was the deal between the head vampire and the female one who got cooked w/the hydroponic heat lamp?

Who were they? Where'd they come from?

I've previously only heard great things about this movie. So, that alone means that I must go see it myself. For whatever difference it makes, I'll let you know what I think later. If it's really as good and scary as they say, then maybe I'll be doing this...

Bring extra TP as there are a few parts that make you jump out of your skin.

Not a problem. That's exactly the type I like!

                          graphic novel

this was based on a graphic novel. did anyone read that?

                          i thought it was decent...i rated it a "B-"

thought the ending was a little hokey. but overall good.

I'm looking forward towards the season's next 'vampire' flick...I AM LEGEND. Based on Richard Matheson's story of the same name. Filmed previously under the titles of LAST MAN ON EARTH (vincent price) and OMEGA MAN (charleston heston).

I havn't seen it yet but the whole idea of 30 days of nighttime is a clever spin on the vampire idea. Has potential, i think i will go
