I don't know if this movie has been discussed on the forum, but it is good, and underrated. It stars John Malkovich as a French simpleton who is captured by the Germans, and ends up working on Goerings East Prussia estate, and then ultimately ends up at a HJ NPEA school.
The film was made in 1996, and works on many different levels--allegory, satire, metaphor, etc.
I believe the uniforms were pretty good (there was even a Forstdienst officer), and the movie does get serious and realistic when the NPEA students mount a last-stand against the Soviets.
This would make a great double-bill with Napola--and when I saw NAPOLA, it appeared to me a few of its ideas/scenes were lifted from this movie.
Watch it, and let me know what you all think.
