    great book store pickups...

Hello All I visited my local "half priced book store" today and found some great priced goodies.
    the longest day by Ryan
the german generals talk by liddle hart
    grenaders by THE kurt meyer
all for the unbelivable low price of $16.00. I am talking new books to boot!

These are just some of the fantastic books I have picked up at this book store

Does any one have a book store of this type that they visit?

I have a Half Priced Books near me, but I haven't been over there to buy any books yet. I should go, but I have a lot of reading right now, so we'll wait until I'm done with all my books!

    Good finds though Michael!

      Mansel,
you should make a point to go. I have really picked up some nice books for low bucks. The good thing is you never know what they are going to have.

      Other pickups have been;
      Rendezvous with destiny 101st history
german army order of battle 1942

I just had a similar successful trip myself, just this week. The half-price book store in my town is going out of business, so all the half priced books are half price. I picked up:

The German Army 1933-1945 by Mathew Cooper
        Eisenhower: A Soldier's Life
        Patton: A Soldiers's Life
The Reich Marshal (Bio of Goering)
        Panzer Leader by Guderian
        and The Buchenwald Report

All Hard Cover (Except Panzer Leader), for only $26.50!! At Border's I would have spent over $120 on these books, easy. And the best part is that it was my Dentist that told me the store was going out of business, after we were discussing the books 'Fly Boys' and 'About Face'. Probably the only pleasant trip to the dentist I've ever had, hooah.

I once picked up a great book entitled "Identification" from a Half Priced Books store for $5. It was printed in 1943 and served as a guide for US troops regarding the militaries of every country of the time, including some great illustrations of uniforms, insignia, and flags.
