New Begin Published Militararia Magazine in Chinese

Hi, Dear All friends from all over the world

There is a new begin published militaria magazine in Chinese. Its name is Clarion. It is about the militaria all over the world. And it is focus on Third Reich, USSR, North Korea, Mongolia, China, etc. I am very very glad that we are consulted by many reputable collectors and writers. Detlev Niemann, Christopher Ailsby, Gordon Williamson, Roger Bender, Sascha Weber, Neil Stewart, Igor Moiseyev are our magazine's consultants. This magazine is the first Chinese magazine about Uniforms and ODMs. The first volume of this magazine covers:

1, North Korea National Flag Order
2, German Army Shoulder Boards, 1933-1945(by me)
3, Fredrich August Medal(By WAF member Christian Lehrer)
4, German Red Cross badges 1933-1945
5, EK2 variations and manufacturers(By WAF member Nan Su)

Dear WAF members, I am happy if you can offer some comments and some guidance. China militaria collectors is a large community. They are growing and is one part of the world collectors community.

    Yours, Tang Si

Hello Segmund! I congradulate you and all involved in this effort. The magazine layout looks supurb. As you state, there must be a large growing interest in collecting military items in China that this magazine will serve.

How did you first become interested in collecting WWII German items? Do you have a group of local friends that share your interests? Where did you purchase your first item and what was it? How many others do you know in China who are collecting pieces like the items shown in the pictures? What is the most popular military collectible in China? Do you have shows where you can purchase items locally? And finally, do the WWII German items have a politically correct stigma associated with them in China like they seem to now have in the West?

Best of luck in the future!

p.s. - Check the byte size of the images you are showing as they are taking a long time to download ... and I have a fast connection. You may want to recompress them as JPEGs instead of PNGs..

        Hi, Dear Friend

So many questions. Let me answer them

1, How did you first become interested in collecting WWII German items?
This is hard to answer. I think most military fans are interested in German militaria. But how did we? I can't answer it.

2, Do you have a group of local friends that share your interests?
Yes, in China, there is a large group of the same interests. But they are collectors, not experts. We are going to develop the collection hobby culture in China.

3, Where did you purchase your first item and what was it?
I forgot it, maybe a IAB.

4, How many others do you know in China who are collecting pieces like the items shown in the pictures?
I know most of them. I think I know about more than 100 friends who are collecting militaria.

5, What is the most popular military collectible in China?
You mean the countries or the kinds? Most collector collect TR, USSR, North Korea and Mogonlia itesm.

6, Do you have shows where you can purchase items locally?
Yes, there are. In Beijing, Shanghai, there are large antique markets. And we can buy things from there.

7, Do the WWII German items have a politically correct stigma associated with them in China like they seem to now have in the West?
I have to say that German in WWII did little harm to China. Even in Nationlist Goverment during 1930s, there are many German consultants in Chinese Army. The most famous is General Seeckt. So although we Chinese hate Nazism, but we hate Japanese militarism more.

I post the JPG pictures. But maybe the host is slow

        Yours, Tang Si

              Congratulations on the magazine!

I applaud your efforts to produce a magazine with varied content (virtually nothing is published in English on Korean/Chinese militaria for example) and your sensible decision to include different periods of history.

The multiple wars format has served the French published "Militaria" magazine well, and this accounts for it's long life as it attracts many varied collectors.

Truely this is now a global hobby.

              Good luck!

              Patrick.

Yes, looks like an interesting publication. How can it
be obtained? Are English translation sheets available or included?
Would love to see some articles on military museums in China and
the DPRK - especially to learn more about your/their People's Army unit
flags (regimental colors and standards) and about captured US flags too.
