Hannibal Rising WAFFEN SS

This movie features about 20 mins of quite nice combat action in Lithuania 1944 between a Waffen SS company, Lithuanian "SS" militia and Soviet forces.
Good Stuka and T34 action.

I thought it was well done for a non-war movie.

Apparently Hannibal Lecters sister got killed and eaten by the Lithuanian "SS" men. That is what started him off on his serial killing career.

Worth chekcking it out.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty decent movie overall- from the militaria perspecitve, the uniforms and gear the Lithuanian SS men were carrying were pretty interesting. They seem to feature predominantly Soviet items- the veshmeshok pack for example looked liked the post-war version, and some of the caps and coats were odd variants as well (if anyone could name them by model or type, I would appreciate it).

Towards the battlefield scene, it was a neat combination of a Soviet greatcoat and ushanka coupled with the german mess kit and canteen. Grutas also appeared to wear a single button M43 during the castle scene.
