    Iron Cross Book Completed

Just a heads up to let you guys know that the Iron Cross book for Bender Publishing is now complete. I got the last batch of page proofs to check this week. It now stands at 480 pages, but there are a few last minute contributions I want to include so it will run somewhere between 480-500 pages in total.

Roger's contribution, in the usual high quality layout and production values, has been great. He is without doubt the most pro-active, helpful publisher I have ever written for.

No fixed date for publication yet, but given that its pretty much all done-and-dusted, should be very soon.

How will it differ from The Iron Times?

                  Paul,

The main difference is that this one will deal only with the 1939 Iron Crosses whereas Stephen covered them all from 1813 onwards. So, in roughly the same number of pages we will go into much more depth on different makers variants etc etc. The two books will, I hope, be complimentary rather than in competition. Well, we won't have the fabulous amount of color photography that Stephen has, but Roger usually manages a few pages of colour for the more visually impressive pieces, and of course we won't be near the price of "The Iron Time" (Still one of my favorite books!). Unfortunately, the proofs I see are black and white copies so I don't know which pages may have color.

Gordon. Don't know if you are keeping a list of people interested in your book, but if you are, please put me on your list as well. Look forward to seeing it. Mike

I have seen this book, and it is the most impressive 1939 Iron Cross reference ever.
