    U-Boat.....well some day!!!

Well while I still keep waiting for my hobby materials to arrive to be able to continue work on Jacques ship, I will like to share with you another long term project that hope to finish someday!!!

Some time ago a couple of forum members ask me for what model I did the U-boat scrachtbuilt conning tower and brass 88 deck gun, and the answer is.....for this, my full hull type VIIC submarine, in here the conning tower have it's first "coat" of paint/fading but no actual weathering yet, the hull have been painted and the first coat of weathering have been applied to it...but is still on progress job, is a long, long way from been finish, but is slowly getting there, most of the remainding work are very small details and the weathering.

The hull was a very good fiberglass molding but without any surface detail at all, all the "weld panel lines" and "rivets" where added one at the time by me......that was fun!!! As you can see there a lot of parts unpainted/still on progress....but is getting there

Hope you like it and sorry for the dark photos,my workshop lighting in this area is not very good to take photos, will try to take better ones in daylight/outside in the near future.

Ooooooohhhhhh, nice! If this turns out half as good as your Andreas Miniatures conning tower it will be a masterpiece.

Thanks for the kind words, greatly appreciated.

When I finish this project in the future is going into a long term loan to a local naval collector display room, he will supply the display case, which I can keep after the model is return, which I am glad since that was quite a costly part for this project.

Well in 1/18 it could be a "little to much"

Is aprox. sixth feet long.....but you should see the GATO/BALAO class American submarine hull in this scale, my u-boat hull almost fit inside the American sub...with space to spare!!!......now imagine a Japanese I-400 submarine in 1/35 scale.......I only wish!!!!!!!!!!!!
