My father, a former Ju88 pilot, turned 85 a few weeks ago. After a big event we had for him we were looking at some of the models he built 35 to 40 years ago. Model building was one of the many hobbies we shared together. My Dad liked his models to look "mint", and airbrushes had just arrived on the scene. As a tribute to my best friend ever, although a little dusty, here are a few he built.

Willi, your Dad has talent! Very nice. Are they 1/35th scale?

I used to build military models as a kid (1/35th scale). Especially loved building diorama's. Probably why I'm near sighted today!

Wow. Very nicely made. I wish my vision never started to go bad. It sucks when you can't see small details at 19, had to stop building airplanes 3 years ago because of it.

I hope your dad had a great 85, and I wish him a great 86 when it comes around.
