Hi folks, I'm in need of a bit of advice. I do a Luftwaffe fighter pilot depiction and in all the photographs I've ever seen, when the pilot is away from his aircraft he is never seen carrying his oxygen mask or flight helmet (unlike US or RAF pilots) I guess what I'm asking is whether it is known if it was German practice to leave the Oxygen mask and flight helmet in the Aircraft? I know dumb question, one which I wish I had thought of 3 years ago when I met a real 109 pilot...but he alas has passed away...So any advice would be most welcome!
